Meet Donna Carsten
Founder and Owner donna@dashbusiness.com Donna Carsten has been keeping track of other people’s money and business needs for over 25 years. She does it with acumen, precision and heart. It is no wonder her success is built on referrals from satisfied clients and associates. Ten years ago Donna followed her own advice and answered the call to grow. She moved her bookkeeping business from a small home office to a storefront and launched a full- service business management firm.
Donna, you have been in business for a long time. What keeps you going?
I love my clients. And I love being of service. I have a short attention span so the ever-changing nature of my work keeps me interested and inspired. Some people say when you work for yourself it’s great being your own boss. But I have many bosses...sometimes right here on my desk :) All my clients are all unique and I love it!

What is your favorite thing about being a part of the dashBusiness team?
Being a part of dash is like having a second family! I’ve worked at many places but I’ve been with dash for 10 years. The best thing about dash is Donna! She knows how to keep dash moving by providing excellent service that goes above and beyond what other businesses do. I enjoy providing that level of service to my clients and working with Donna and the dash team!
What is your favorite quotation?
“It’s always something and if it is not something, it is something else!” I believe it is important to recognize that challenges are part of personal and professional growth. One should always maintain integrity and honesty and try to create a better world for all they touch, co-workers, clients, other people and animals, too! And to always keep a good sense of humor about life and yourself!
What are five things you can’t live without?
Donna, dash, my sister, kitties, and coffee! Not sure in what order, LOL!

Patricia and Donna have been friends for 29 years. As a favor she started helping Donna before there was a dashBusiness. Patricia is our company Office Manager and also integrally supports our After The Fact Division here at dash.

It’s really a great group of people to work with, and Donna is a great boss!

Laurie Dunivant
Account Manager
Laurie has been a part of dashBusiness since 2007. Starting as our receptionist Laurie instantly made herself invaluable and quickly moved up to a Payroll Processor and then promoted to Account Manager where she has been taking care of her current clients now since 2009
What is your favorite thing about being a part of the dashBusiness team?
My favorite thing about being part of the dashBusiness team is that I am given freedom to manage and complete my work as necessary while I also always have people to turn to for guidance and support.
What is your favorite meal?
I guess my favorite meal is homemade enchiladas; but my favorite food by far is potatoes, the most loved form being French fries of any shape and size!
What was the last new thing you tried?
The last new thing I tried was tennis. It is great exercise and I found that I really enjoy playing it.
Robin Colla
Account Manager
Robin brings to dash extensive Bookkeeping & Controller experience. She has worked for large firms, smaller companies and in construction. Her knowledge and diverse experience makes her the perfect person to help coordinate the dash “After the Fact” division.
What is your favorite thing about being a part of the dashBusiness team?
I really love the management style and the Camaraderie which makes for an amazing working atmosphere.
If you could have lunch with any person in the history of time who would it be and why?
Amelia Earhart. She was an amazingly strong woman in a time when she wouldn’t have been well received. I would love to just listen to her stories and learn.
What was the last new thing you tried?
I was the DJ at our friends gay wedding. There were so many observers from outside the wedding party. It was fun!
